Service Areas Media & Strategic Communication
Media plays important in the development of democratic governance and the strengthening of civil society. Media contributes to the promotion of participation, dialogue and communication in interventions and can provide an avenue for the empowerment of people living in poverty.
Advocacy and strategic communication should be viewed as an integral part of the implementation of the Policy for Global development and in the international efforts to make development cooperation more effective. Experience show that working with planned communication and advocacy within the framework of specific projects and programmes help to achieve the objectives of the cooperation.
SPM has the expertise and is gradually becoming more involved in communication, advocacy and media projects in several capacities: both on an implementing level as well as undertaking studies and reports on the development of the media and further training of journalists.
